Narrative:
Upon arriving at aircraft for first leg of the day to lax, after crew introductions, the #1 flight attendant and myself reviewed the cabin maintenance log for any open write-ups. There was one: 'video picture quality poor, 2332,' intermittent and in-flight only. Operations checked ok on ground. I flipped backwards through the approved discrepancy list and found the listing 'video screen, poor picture quality, 2332.' since there was no 'maintenance' notation by the listing, I closed the book and proceeded with the flight to lax. While preparing for leg to ZZZ, I once again checked the cabin maintenance log. This time starting from the front of the approved discrepancy list and on page 27, found a listing 'jcp picture quality poor (maintenance), 2332.' it was here I realized that this was the better description for the write-up and since it was designated with a 'maintenance' this item should not have been put into the crew maintenance log. In fact it should have been put into the aircraft logbook as a maintenance write-up. The previous flight attendant should never have put the item into the crew maintenance log and the previous crew should have been notified. Maintenance control was notified. The rest of flight was routine. The maintenance technician did the exact same thing I did when he examined the crew maintenance log. He went to page 28, read it, and said I was good to go. Only after I pointed out page 27 did he agree that the item did, in fact, belong in the aircraft logbook. Crew maintenance log procedures very confusing for flight attendants. Item descriptions too similar and should not have same category number, ie, '2332.' each listing should have its own number.

Title: A320 CAPT DISCOVERS ERROR BTWN CABIN MAINT LOG AND ACFT LOGBOOK DOCUMENTATION, DUE TO A FLT ATTENDANT DEFICIENCY ENTRY FOR A PAX VIDEO PICTURE PROB WHEN CONSULTING A COMPANY MAINT TECHNICIAN.
