Narrative:
About 60 KM east of junor, I was told by #1 flight attendant that passenger was having difficulty breathing and short of breath. I asked ZMA for priority due to medical emergency into mia and received it. Communication to cabin was being coordinated by flight engineer.. Mia operations and dispatch were called and let know of the situation and our needs. We were given #1 and high speed descent all the way in to runway 9L for gate xx. Tower left space between aircraft on taxiway for our exit. Then to my amazement, I was told that gate xx was occupied. I then got on ramp frequency. In about 2 mins we were told to turn around and to take xy. I did so and weaved around aircraft and pulling into xy but was stopped by guideman. Got to gate -- no agent or medics. Passenger told to stay seated. Agent arrived within 2-3 mins. Last I heard, passenger was ok. I felt that mia operations was not overly concerned or prepared to prioritize my arrival, though every attempt on our part was made to communicate and coordinate a serious situation.
