Level at FL290 as per clearance, received TA, then RA 'descend' in response to conflicting traffic opposite direction level at same altitude. The first officer executed evasive maneuver in accordance with standard operating procedure. ATC was advised of RA, ATC then issued 20 degrees left turn clearance. Conflicting traffic also performed an evasive maneuver. All 3 pilots aboard monitoring ATC during incident. Altitude was intermediate altitude issued by ATC. ATC issued frequency change after conflict. Next controller issued final climb to FL370.
