Narrative:
Day #4 of a 4-DAY trip. Taxiing from gate to runway. Clearance from single controller work all frequencys was as follows: taxi via right on taxiway B, left on taxiway P, left on taxiway D. I was working the radios on the taxi out and repeated the taxi clearance as was given. Both the captain and controller acknowledged. The captain turned right on taxiway D with the intent of taxiing to runway 13L. We crossed runway 23. Both the captain and I called our respective position clear and turned on the required exterior lighting. Tower came on frequency and said 'runway 23 is active, winds 260 degrees at 14 KTS, would you like runway 13L or runway 23?' we checked departure performance numbers, requested runway 23 and were cleared for takeoff runway 23. Confusion came with the absence of a runway assignment and my not verifying our direction of taxi. Runway assignment prior to taxi clearance should be given and always verified. Supplemental information from acn 492092: thought controller said to taxi them to runway 13L.

Title: A CARJ CREW DURING TAXI FOR TKOF TURNED R INSTEAD OF L AS CLRED AND CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY.
Narrative: DAY #4 OF A 4-DAY TRIP. TAXIING FROM GATE TO RWY. CLRNC FROM SINGLE CTLR WORK ALL FREQS WAS AS FOLLOWS: TAXI VIA R ON TXWY B, L ON TXWY P, L ON TXWY D. I WAS WORKING THE RADIOS ON THE TAXI OUT AND REPEATED THE TAXI CLRNC AS WAS GIVEN. BOTH THE CAPT AND CTLR ACKNOWLEDGED. THE CAPT TURNED R ON TXWY D WITH THE INTENT OF TAXIING TO RWY 13L. WE CROSSED RWY 23. BOTH THE CAPT AND I CALLED OUR RESPECTIVE POS CLR AND TURNED ON THE REQUIRED EXTERIOR LIGHTING. TWR CAME ON FREQ AND SAID 'RWY 23 IS ACTIVE, WINDS 260 DEGS AT 14 KTS, WOULD YOU LIKE RWY 13L OR RWY 23?' WE CHKED DEP PERFORMANCE NUMBERS, REQUESTED RWY 23 AND WERE CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 23. CONFUSION CAME WITH THE ABSENCE OF A RWY ASSIGNMENT AND MY NOT VERIFYING OUR DIRECTION OF TAXI. RWY ASSIGNMENT PRIOR TO TAXI CLRNC SHOULD BE GIVEN AND ALWAYS VERIFIED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 492092: THOUGHT CTLR SAID TO TAXI THEM TO RWY 13L.
