Narrative:
Radio to ground control, ready for departure with ATIS information. Runway 30 and runway 34 were the actives and runway 30 was being used to taxi to runway 34. Control came on radio and said 'XXX taxi to runway 30 right turn to runway 34.' I 'did not' hear 'hold short' at runway 30, so I proceeded to runway 34. I stopped at runway 30 and looked both ways and listened and then proceeded to runway 34 ramp and controller came over radio to me and said 'I didn't say go onto runway 34.' no evasive action was taken but I was very upset that I did something that the controller didn't want and I apologize.

Title: C172 PLT INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ACROSS RWY DURING TAXI OUT WITHOUT APPROVAL.
Narrative: RADIO TO GND CTL, READY FOR DEP WITH ATIS INFO. RWY 30 AND RWY 34 WERE THE ACTIVES AND RWY 30 WAS BEING USED TO TAXI TO RWY 34. CTL CAME ON RADIO AND SAID 'XXX TAXI TO RWY 30 R TURN TO RWY 34.' I 'DID NOT' HEAR 'HOLD SHORT' AT RWY 30, SO I PROCEEDED TO RWY 34. I STOPPED AT RWY 30 AND LOOKED BOTH WAYS AND LISTENED AND THEN PROCEEDED TO RWY 34 RAMP AND CTLR CAME OVER RADIO TO ME AND SAID 'I DIDN'T SAY GO ONTO RWY 34.' NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN BUT I WAS VERY UPSET THAT I DID SOMETHING THAT THE CTLR DIDN'T WANT AND I APOLOGIZE.
