Interpretation on leading edge flap slat transit light indication/problem in dealing with MEL 27-4. We were given erroneous guidance by air carrier/maintenance control. Discussion with ZZZ chief pilot (assistant) about this MEL interpretation and discovered we may be in error on this MEL interpretation.

Title: A B737-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH LEADING EDGE FLAP SLAT TRANSIT LIGHT INDICATION INOP AND FLC BELIEVES ITEM INCORRECTLY DEFERRED.
