Narrative:
Misinterp on a leading edge flap/slat transit light indication/problem in dealing with MEL 27-4. We were given erroneous guidance by duty/maintenance control. We talked to assistant chief pilot 3 days later and that's when we found out there may have been an interpretation error.

Title: A B737-300 FLC DISCOVERS, AFTER THE FACT, THEY FAILED TO DEAL WITH A LEADING EDGE FLAP-SLAT TRANSIT LIGHT INDICATION IN THE MANNER AS PRESCRIBED BY MEL 27-4 AT PDX, OR.
Narrative: MISINTERP ON A LEADING EDGE FLAP/SLAT TRANSIT LIGHT INDICATION/PROB IN DEALING WITH MEL 27-4. WE WERE GIVEN ERRONEOUS GUIDANCE BY DUTY/MAINT CTL. WE TALKED TO ASSISTANT CHIEF PLT 3 DAYS LATER AND THAT'S WHEN WE FOUND OUT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN AN INTERP ERROR.
