Narrative:
During climb out, #2 engine reverser unlocked. Performed ECAM and procedures. Shut down #2 engine advised ATC, advised flight attendants, mx, and dispatch of emergency returned back to ZZZ uneventful. Also had emergency equipment standing by. Taxi to gate also uneventful. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the fan reverser on #2 engine did move aft tearing off a blocker door. The reporter said the first officer flying noted the drag on the right side just prior to engine shutdown and indicated this was no false warning. The reporter stated when on the ground and visually checking the engine in addition to the blocker door damage a heavy stream of hydraulic fluid was draining from the engine. The reporter said the fan reverser did not go to full reverse. The reporter said maintenance has not reported on the component failure or corrective action.
