Narrative:

On departure, right main landing gear indicated it did not retract properly. Cycled gear and situation persisted. Returned to mwcb, first officer, for uneventful landing. Determined that maintenance had left right main gear pin installed during work completed prior to departure. Gear pin was not the pin normally used on aircraft and did not have full length flag attached. Last min maintenance performed by contractor unfamiliar with aircraft, hurried walkaround trying to stay on schedule, nonstandard gear pin/flag used by maintenance all contributed to this situation.
