Narrative:
At gate, engines off. APU on. Had master caution lights come on along with forward cargo smoke indication. Testing system gave normal indications. Upon test button release, system activated again, and discharged #1 bottle. Our procedure eventually disengaged #2 bottle. Deplaned passenger through front door and jetway. No injuries, no sign of fire upon inspection.

Title: A DC9-50 WHILE PARKED AT A GATE WITH PAX EXPERIENCED A CARGO SMOKE OVERHEAT WARNING. DISCHARGED #1 BOTTLE, ADVISED TWR, AND DEPLANED PAX. CAUSED BY A FALSE WARNING.
Narrative: AT GATE, ENGS OFF. APU ON. HAD MASTER CAUTION LIGHTS COME ON ALONG WITH FORWARD CARGO SMOKE INDICATION. TESTING SYS GAVE NORMAL INDICATIONS. UPON TEST BUTTON RELEASE, SYS ACTIVATED AGAIN, AND DISCHARGED #1 BOTTLE. OUR PROC EVENTUALLY DISENGAGED #2 BOTTLE. DEPLANED PAX THROUGH FRONT DOOR AND JETWAY. NO INJURIES, NO SIGN OF FIRE UPON INSPECTION.
