Narrative:
On taxiing for departure, and unfamiliar with airport, a request was made prior to taxi for taxi instructions to end of runway 27L for takeoff. Rather than progressive taxi instructions, controller issued all right/left turns and runway crossing instructions in 1 sentence, and it was a busy traffic morning. I was authorized to cross runway 13/31 as part of my clearance to taxi. As I approached a hold line, I saw no runway sign adjacent to the hold line. I crossed the line, but was concerned and stopped with the aircraft tail just past the line, but well before being on the runway. I asked the controller to clarify instructions and he told me to turn around or take an intersection departure. I turned around and with his assistance, completed taxiing.
