Narrative:
I had a red gear unsafe warning light upon lowering the gear, in addition to 3 greens. I followed the poh procedures and was unable to resolve the red light condition. After a successful landing, I determined that the landing gear was down and locked, and I flew the airplane after a thorough preflight and after determining the plane was airworthy. Later, the mechanic was not able to replicate the problem after resetting the switch. The poh does not describe the reset button or its location. I recommend that the reset button and its location be included in the poh so a pilot can reset it in case of a temporary malfunction. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the only thing the technician did in the way of a fix was reset a button behind the instrument panel. The reporter said the poh does not have any information on this button and its function. The reporter stated the airplane was jacked and the gear swung with no faults found. The reporter said the technician contacted the manufacturer to determine the function of the reset button but the explanation was confusing.

Title: A SOCATA TBM 700 ON APCH AT 10000 FT ON LNDG GEAR EXTENSION HAS 3 GREEN AND 1 RED UNSAFE LIGHT. LNDG SUCCESSFUL AFTER FOLLOWING OPERATING PROCS.
Narrative: I HAD A RED GEAR UNSAFE WARNING LIGHT UPON LOWERING THE GEAR, IN ADDITION TO 3 GREENS. I FOLLOWED THE POH PROCS AND WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE RED LIGHT CONDITION. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL LNDG, I DETERMINED THAT THE LNDG GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED, AND I FLEW THE AIRPLANE AFTER A THOROUGH PREFLT AND AFTER DETERMINING THE PLANE WAS AIRWORTHY. LATER, THE MECH WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROB AFTER RESETTING THE SWITCH. THE POH DOES NOT DESCRIBE THE RESET BUTTON OR ITS LOCATION. I RECOMMEND THAT THE RESET BUTTON AND ITS LOCATION BE INCLUDED IN THE POH SO A PLT CAN RESET IT IN CASE OF A TEMPORARY MALFUNCTION.
