Narrative:
Taxied for departure from mia. Instructions were to taxi via taxiway Q1 to runway 9L. As we approached taxiway Q, we were assigned our sequence by ground and changed to tower frequency 118.3. Upon changing to tower, tower called us and directed us to call company. While this was happening, the #1 and #2 airplanes ahead of us took off. Captain was taxiing and I called company on VHF #2. Purpose of call was to recover cell phone lost by an employee in the cargo bin. While conversation ensued, we continued toward runway 9L and as we came to a stop short of the runway, tower sent a B727, on final for runway 9L, around and told us we should have held short. Although we were across the hold line, we did not encroach on the runway. We allowed ourselves to be distraction at an important time.
