Narrative:
While doing the morning follow-on service, we experienced severe turbulence. We attempted to move the meal cart back into the business class galley. Before we could get into the galley, we hit a really big bump. Supplies and food flew off of the cart, and off of passenger's trays. There were no reported or apparent injuries in business class. Flight attendant from coach class called to report via the interphone that the flight attendant #2 had been injured when she hit her head on the galley ceiling. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: flight was international, from sabe to mia. The encounter occurred about 1 1/2 hours out of mia. Flight crew had medical attention meet the aircraft to attend to the flight attendant's injury. The encounter was without warning. The seatbelt sign was not on.
