Narrative:
Air carrier X was delayed due to ewr WX and eventually diverted to mdt. During the first hour of flight, we had no air carrier X dispatch flight following. Dispatch thought we were on the gate at mia and canceled the flight. We were almost 1/2 way to ewr. We also had no flight attendants. On the subsequent air carrier X, all were present and working very hard to make our guests comfortable. How we dropped out of the air carrier X system we need to know. Otherwise, I would like to compliment and commend the crew of air carrier X on feb/xa/01 out of mia which eventually diverted to mdt. Also, the folks at mdt did a very nice job of getting gate space help from air carrier Y to push/park 2 diversions, and eventually help the passenger get accommodations for the night, as we went illegal during the time we were trying to push on an icy foggy ramp at mdt.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A B727 DEPARTED WITHOUT DISPATCH RELEASE AND CABIN ATTENDANTS CAUSED BY LENGTHY DELAY DUE TO DEST WX.
Narrative: ACR X WAS DELAYED DUE TO EWR WX AND EVENTUALLY DIVERTED TO MDT. DURING THE FIRST HR OF FLT, WE HAD NO ACR X DISPATCH FLT FOLLOWING. DISPATCH THOUGHT WE WERE ON THE GATE AT MIA AND CANCELED THE FLT. WE WERE ALMOST 1/2 WAY TO EWR. WE ALSO HAD NO FLT ATTENDANTS. ON THE SUBSEQUENT ACR X, ALL WERE PRESENT AND WORKING VERY HARD TO MAKE OUR GUESTS COMFORTABLE. HOW WE DROPPED OUT OF THE ACR X SYS WE NEED TO KNOW. OTHERWISE, I WOULD LIKE TO COMPLIMENT AND COMMEND THE CREW OF ACR X ON FEB/XA/01 OUT OF MIA WHICH EVENTUALLY DIVERTED TO MDT. ALSO, THE FOLKS AT MDT DID A VERY NICE JOB OF GETTING GATE SPACE HELP FROM ACR Y TO PUSH/PARK 2 DIVERSIONS, AND EVENTUALLY HELP THE PAX GET ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THE NIGHT, AS WE WENT ILLEGAL DURING THE TIME WE WERE TRYING TO PUSH ON AN ICY FOGGY RAMP AT MDT.
