Narrative:
On the way to rap, we got into moderate ice and asked the controller to land at mhe. The controller vectored us to VOR 15 at mitchell. He was trying to help but gave us the outbound heading which caused reverse sensing. I looked at the plate when we were off course and changed to the inbound, became established, found the runway, and landed on an icy runway with a left crosswind, went off the left side of the runway into the plowed snow. I hurried approach, low forward visibility and ice on the runway caused the problem. More PIREPS, and a better way to remove ice from runways would be a big help.
