Narrative:

Flight pit-ind. Took off without a clearance. Essentially, captain thought I had gotten clearance via pre departure clearance, and I thought he had gotten it. There was a crew change in pit, and the existing pre departure clearance on ACARS had the same initial routing as we had going to ind. On departure, the controller asked us to squawk the appropriate code. We replied we were squawking XXXX, thinking it was correct. It was not. Pulled up our clearance via pre departure clearance in-flight. Nothing further said.
