Narrative:
Wrong data input to FMC. This report is being submitted at the request of the union coordinator to substantiate the first officer's report. During descent into bogata, I had to leave the cockpit to use the lavatory. We were approaching the mqu VOR at about FL250, and I was back quickly. After I returned to my seat, I saw that the FMC was commanding a turn to the right in a northwest direction. We were about 16000 ft. I asked the first officer 'what's up?' and she replied that we had 'been cleared direct to utica.' I immediately selected heading mode, and turned the aircraft to the left where I knew the uti NDB was located. We were just crossing the mqu VOR at this time at about 16000 ft. About this same time, as I finished strapping in, the controller then cleared us to the bog VOR. As we set up to proceed to the bog VOR, I asked the first officer if she realized what had happened. She replied that she had typed in 'utica' into the FMC instead of 'uti.' I could see that she realized the seriousness of that mistake, and we discussed the potential consequences. The approach and landing were uneventful.

Title: B757-200 CREW HAD TRACK DEV IN SKBO CLASS E AIRSPACE.
Narrative: WRONG DATA INPUT TO FMC. THIS RPT IS BEING SUBMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE UNION COORDINATOR TO SUBSTANTIATE THE FO'S RPT. DURING DSCNT INTO BOGATA, I HAD TO LEAVE THE COCKPIT TO USE THE LAVATORY. WE WERE APCHING THE MQU VOR AT ABOUT FL250, AND I WAS BACK QUICKLY. AFTER I RETURNED TO MY SEAT, I SAW THAT THE FMC WAS COMMANDING A TURN TO THE R IN A NW DIRECTION. WE WERE ABOUT 16000 FT. I ASKED THE FO 'WHAT'S UP?' AND SHE REPLIED THAT WE HAD 'BEEN CLRED DIRECT TO UTICA.' I IMMEDIATELY SELECTED HDG MODE, AND TURNED THE ACFT TO THE L WHERE I KNEW THE UTI NDB WAS LOCATED. WE WERE JUST XING THE MQU VOR AT THIS TIME AT ABOUT 16000 FT. ABOUT THIS SAME TIME, AS I FINISHED STRAPPING IN, THE CTLR THEN CLRED US TO THE BOG VOR. AS WE SET UP TO PROCEED TO THE BOG VOR, I ASKED THE FO IF SHE REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. SHE REPLIED THAT SHE HAD TYPED IN 'UTICA' INTO THE FMC INSTEAD OF 'UTI.' I COULD SEE THAT SHE REALIZED THE SERIOUSNESS OF THAT MISTAKE, AND WE DISCUSSED THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES. THE APCH AND LNDG WERE UNEVENTFUL.
