Narrative:

While en route at FL330 on J116, aircraft deviated approximately 20 NM north of the airway. Aircraft should have been navigating inbound on the falcon (fqf) 268 degree radial. However, the crew discovered that mile high (dvv) was tuned in the VOR instead. The NAVAID confusion resulted from the 'north feather' on fqf is nearly co-located and parallel with the 'NAVAID feather' for dvv, and the crew mistakenly tuned dvv into the navigation receiver rather than fqf. ATC noticed the deviation shortly after the air crew, and gave a vector back on course. No traffic conflict occurred as a result of the deviation.

Title: B727 CREW DIALED THE WRONG VOR FREQ RESULTING IN BECOMING 20 MI OFF INTENDED COURSE AND ARTCC CTLR VECTORING THEM BACK TO COURSE.

Narrative: WHILE ENRTE AT FL330 ON J116, ACFT DEVIATED APPROX 20 NM N OF THE AIRWAY. ACFT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NAVING INBOUND ON THE FALCON (FQF) 268 DEG RADIAL. HOWEVER, THE CREW DISCOVERED THAT MILE HIGH (DVV) WAS TUNED IN THE VOR INSTEAD. THE NAVAID CONFUSION RESULTED FROM THE 'N FEATHER' ON FQF IS NEARLY CO-LOCATED AND PARALLEL WITH THE 'NAVAID FEATHER' FOR DVV, AND THE CREW MISTAKENLY TUNED DVV INTO THE NAV RECEIVER RATHER THAN FQF. ATC NOTICED THE DEV SHORTLY AFTER THE AIR CREW, AND GAVE A VECTOR BACK ON COURSE. NO TFC CONFLICT OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE DEV.
