Narrative:
Assigned gate ab on change-over. Transitioned to ramp from taxiway K at spot xy. Turn-in lined us up for gate AC. Wet ramp obscured ab lead-in line. Lead-in panels went from green to red to green to red then to steady green. Jetbridge wing walkers appeared to be properly positioned for arrival. Distraction by vehicular ground traffic (baggage cart) approaching from the left, which appeared to want to cut in front of us at about the time we should have seen ramp marking spot gate AC, taxi light was momentarily illuminated and traffic held for our arrival. Continued to parking. Jut prior to stop, realized that the illuminated lead-in panels (stop panels) were for B777 gate AC. The DC10/MD11 panels were not illuminated. Tried to locate gate crew after clearing customs and was told they had returned to gate ad.
