Narrative:

Inbound aircraft had antiskid malfunction. Item was previously tested and released on previous leg. Fault review of antiskid control box faulted 'antiskid shutoff valve right hydraulics.' secured valve per MEL and bite control box. On taxi out, 'antiskid fault' illuminated on overhead annunciator panel and aircraft returned to gate. This is a dispatchable item, so I sent the flight back out, immediately, in my haste, I did not perform the control box bite again to make sure a different fault caused the message to illuminate. The fault light 'antiskid fault' is discussed in the MEL and the pilots did not read that part of it. The message is the only one allowable under that MEL. After returning to the gate, I should have treated the departure as a new flight and checked the antiskid control box for new faults.

Title: A B717 RETURNED TO THE GATE A SECOND TIME FOR ANOTHER ANTISKID WARNING LIGHT. THE ITEM WAS DEFERRED PER THE MEL, BUT NO BITE TEST WAS MADE ON THE CTL BOX.

SECURED VALVE PER MEL AND BITE CTL BOX. ON TAXI OUT, 'ANTISKID FAULT' ILLUMINATED ON OVERHEAD ANNUNCIATOR PANEL AND ACFT RETURNED TO GATE.
