Narrative:
While taxiing to runway 27L from center remote, we were given instructions to taxi via 'taxiway north, taxiway Y, taxiway Y1, taxiway 2, runway 8, runway 27L.' we missed taxiway Y1 and arrived at taxiway hh before stopping and questioning ground. They attempted a rerte on another taxiway, but we were eventually told to make a 180 degree turn onto taxiway Y1, as previously instructed. On arriving at taxiway Y1, we clearly saw the sign heading northbound on taxiway Y (abeam fire house), but noticed that no sign for taxiway Y1 sbound on taxiway Y exists. Subsequent taxied through the same area during the week confirmed suspicions. Sign missing could be due to local construction. As a result of this situation, all first officer's have been briefed to maintain airport diagram out even at our hub, in addition to questioning my every turn if in doubt. No conflicts with traffic existed. Controller was very helpful. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: analyst called facility specialist. Facility specialist advised that the FAA, airport officials and users started a 'runway incursion action team' to address taxiway and runway problems/concerns due to planned airport construction over the next 3 yrs. Txwys Y and Y1 signage have already been addressed. Also, txwys Y and V adjoining runway 27L. The airport is also under constructing a new runway, 800 ft north of runway 27R.

Title: AT42 FLC MISS TXWY TURN FROM TXWY Y TO TXWY Y1 AT MIA AND ARE REQUIRED TO REVERSE TAXI TO ORIGINAL ASSIGNED RTE TO RWY 27L.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING TO RWY 27L FROM CTR REMOTE, WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI VIA 'TXWY N, TXWY Y, TXWY Y1, TXWY 2, RWY 8, RWY 27L.' WE MISSED TXWY Y1 AND ARRIVED AT TXWY HH BEFORE STOPPING AND QUESTIONING GND. THEY ATTEMPTED A RERTE ON ANOTHER TXWY, BUT WE WERE EVENTUALLY TOLD TO MAKE A 180 DEG TURN ONTO TXWY Y1, AS PREVIOUSLY INSTRUCTED. ON ARRIVING AT TXWY Y1, WE CLRLY SAW THE SIGN HDG NBOUND ON TXWY Y (ABEAM FIRE HOUSE), BUT NOTICED THAT NO SIGN FOR TXWY Y1 SBOUND ON TXWY Y EXISTS. SUBSEQUENT TAXIED THROUGH THE SAME AREA DURING THE WK CONFIRMED SUSPICIONS. SIGN MISSING COULD BE DUE TO LCL CONSTRUCTION. AS A RESULT OF THIS SIT, ALL FO'S HAVE BEEN BRIEFED TO MAINTAIN ARPT DIAGRAM OUT EVEN AT OUR HUB, IN ADDITION TO QUESTIONING MY EVERY TURN IF IN DOUBT. NO CONFLICTS WITH TFC EXISTED. CTLR WAS VERY HELPFUL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: ANALYST CALLED FACILITY SPECIALIST. FACILITY SPECIALIST ADVISED THAT THE FAA, ARPT OFFICIALS AND USERS STARTED A 'RWY INCURSION ACTION TEAM' TO ADDRESS TXWY AND RWY PROBS/CONCERNS DUE TO PLANNED ARPT CONSTRUCTION OVER THE NEXT 3 YRS. TXWYS Y AND Y1 SIGNAGE HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED. ALSO, TXWYS Y AND V ADJOINING RWY 27L. THE ARPT IS ALSO UNDER CONSTRUCTING A NEW RWY, 800 FT N OF RWY 27R.
