Narrative:
While being vectored for the ILS runway 9R, a few seconds after putting in some left rudder trim, the caution lights for the #1 hydraulic system came on. The forward full pressure (3000 psi) also came on. We then checked the hydraulic gauges and found we had no quantity in system #1. We then pulled out the emergency checklist and proceeded with the checklist. Then we notified the tower and declared an emergency with the equipment standing by. We then landed with no flaps and no normal braking. The landing was normal otherwise, only a longer rollout -- we did not need to use reverse. We also notified the flight attendant of the situation. After landing, we taxied in using differential thrust and the parking brake which is off system #2. Following shutdown and upon further inspection, the mechanic found a hydraulic nipple sheared near the #1 hydraulic reservoir. This was reported and the system was blead twice. Then the aircraft was back in service.

Title: A DHC8-200 ON FINAL APCH AT 3000 FT DECLARED AN EMER DUE TO LOS OF #1 HYD SYS PRESSURE AND QUANTITY CAUSED BY FAILED RESERVOIR FITTING.
Narrative: WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR THE ILS RWY 9R, A FEW SECONDS AFTER PUTTING IN SOME L RUDDER TRIM, THE CAUTION LIGHTS FOR THE #1 HYD SYS CAME ON. THE FORWARD FULL PRESSURE (3000 PSI) ALSO CAME ON. WE THEN CHKED THE HYD GAUGES AND FOUND WE HAD NO QUANTITY IN SYS #1. WE THEN PULLED OUT THE EMER CHKLIST AND PROCEEDED WITH THE CHKLIST. THEN WE NOTIFIED THE TWR AND DECLARED AN EMER WITH THE EQUIP STANDING BY. WE THEN LANDED WITH NO FLAPS AND NO NORMAL BRAKING. THE LNDG WAS NORMAL OTHERWISE, ONLY A LONGER ROLLOUT -- WE DID NOT NEED TO USE REVERSE. WE ALSO NOTIFIED THE FLT ATTENDANT OF THE SIT. AFTER LNDG, WE TAXIED IN USING DIFFERENTIAL THRUST AND THE PARKING BRAKE WHICH IS OFF SYS #2. FOLLOWING SHUTDOWN AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE MECH FOUND A HYD NIPPLE SHEARED NEAR THE #1 HYD RESERVOIR. THIS WAS RPTED AND THE SYS WAS BLEAD TWICE. THEN THE ACFT WAS BACK IN SVC.
