Narrative:
While making the san runway 27 localizer approach with autoplt coupled, we lost the altitude arm/capture function of the FGS at the MDA (approximately 700 ft MSL). The problem was noted as we went 60 ft below MDA, where the PF disconnected the autoplt and arrested the descent. The last 2 mi of the final approach were inadvertently flown below a normal glide path. No further problems were encountered.

Title: AN ACR CARGO FLT LOSES ITS ALT CAPTURE CAPABILITY AT 700 FT MSL ON RWY 27 LOC APCH DURING AN AUTOPLT MALFUNCTION WITH THE FO FLYING 'BELOW A NORMAL GLIDE PATH' FROM MDA TO TOUCHDOWN AT SAN, CA.
Narrative: WHILE MAKING THE SAN RWY 27 LOC APCH WITH AUTOPLT COUPLED, WE LOST THE ALT ARM/CAPTURE FUNCTION OF THE FGS AT THE MDA (APPROX 700 FT MSL). THE PROB WAS NOTED AS WE WENT 60 FT BELOW MDA, WHERE THE PF DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND ARRESTED THE DSCNT. THE LAST 2 MI OF THE FINAL APCH WERE INADVERTENTLY FLOWN BELOW A NORMAL GLIDE PATH. NO FURTHER PROBS WERE ENCOUNTERED.
