Narrative:

At climb/cruise, forward flight attendant reported electrical fumes and blue smoke in forward galley. Fumes made it into cockpit area. Oxygen masks were donned, and an immediate return to slc was made. All appropriate checklists were performed concerning smoke and fumes in the cockpit. An uneventful landing was executed at slc and the emergency equipment was not needed. Maintenance repaired forward galley oven and electrical connections. Aircraft was redispatched to original destination.

Title: B737 CREW HAD BLUE ELECTRICAL SMOKE IN THE FORWARD GALLEY IN ZLC CLASS A AIRSPACE.

Narrative: AT CLB/CRUISE, FORWARD FLT ATTENDANT RPTED ELECTRICAL FUMES AND BLUE SMOKE IN FORWARD GALLEY. FUMES MADE IT INTO COCKPIT AREA. OXYGEN MASKS WERE DONNED, AND AN IMMEDIATE RETURN TO SLC WAS MADE. ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS WERE PERFORMED CONCERNING SMOKE AND FUMES IN THE COCKPIT. AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG WAS EXECUTED AT SLC AND THE EMER EQUIP WAS NOT NEEDED. MAINT REPAIRED FORWARD GALLEY OVEN AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. ACFT WAS REDISPATCHED TO ORIGINAL DEST.
