Narrative:

There was a north eastern bringing rain, wind, and turbulence to the ny area. We were operation from dca to jfk. Center gave us a speed restr of 210 KTS for camrn at 11000 ft. As we descended to 3000 ft after camrn for the approach to jfk's runway 4L, I let the airspeed creep up to 240 KTS IAS. Approach asked our airspeed. The acceleration was inadvertent. I was concerned about keeping the engine north indications above 55 percent, for the engine anti-ice. Was on. While doing this, our descent speed crept up. I should have concentrated on the airspeed. Other factors were the rain and turbulence which made hand flying quite difficult.
