Narrative:
We were notified that we flew with the FMC data out of date. On the first flight it (the FMC) alerted us with the 'navigation data out of date' message. I selected the next update and activated it, believing it was now current. Apparently, it was the previous update and also out of date. I could have sworn the dates made sense while I updated, but I can't be positive since I've done it so many times before and there was nothing out of the ordinary that makes this instance stand out from all the others. All flts were flown without incident.
