Narrative:
Having landed on runway 30 at mia, we were cleared to taxi to the ramp via taxiway Q. We were following a B757 on taxiway Q, and asked ground for clearance to transition to taxiway P via taxiway south. We were then paralleling other B757 who was still on taxiway 1. As we entered the ramp area near our gate, the go noticed that the other B757 was now converging from the right due to the way taxiway Q turned in toward the ramp area. The first officer notified the captain of the proximity of the aircraft, and he turned left off the taxi centerline. The other B757 aircraft came to a stop and advised ground of our convergence. At no time did we feel there was danger of colliding with the other aircraft, and indeed, the tower supervisor subsequently confirmed by telephone that adequate spacing existed via their ASR.

Title: 2 B757'S COME IN CLOSE PROX WITH EACH OTHER NEAR THE GATE AREA WHILE ON A PARALLEL TAXI OP AT MIA, FL.
Narrative: HAVING LANDED ON RWY 30 AT MIA, WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO THE RAMP VIA TXWY Q. WE WERE FOLLOWING A B757 ON TXWY Q, AND ASKED GND FOR CLRNC TO TRANSITION TO TXWY P VIA TXWY S. WE WERE THEN PARALLELING OTHER B757 WHO WAS STILL ON TXWY 1. AS WE ENTERED THE RAMP AREA NEAR OUR GATE, THE GO NOTICED THAT THE OTHER B757 WAS NOW CONVERGING FROM THE R DUE TO THE WAY TXWY Q TURNED IN TOWARD THE RAMP AREA. THE FO NOTIFIED THE CAPT OF THE PROX OF THE ACFT, AND HE TURNED L OFF THE TAXI CTRLINE. THE OTHER B757 ACFT CAME TO A STOP AND ADVISED GND OF OUR CONVERGENCE. AT NO TIME DID WE FEEL THERE WAS DANGER OF COLLIDING WITH THE OTHER ACFT, AND INDEED, THE TWR SUPVR SUBSEQUENTLY CONFIRMED BY TELEPHONE THAT ADEQUATE SPACING EXISTED VIA THEIR ASR.
