Narrative:

There is a closed high speed taxiway at sfo from runway 28L to taxiway a, between taxiway D and taxiway K. It is depicted on chart 10-9 by a pair of dotted lines. This taxiway has been closed for yrs, but it had illuminated green centerline lights on. When exiting runway 28L on the high speed turnoff, taxiway T, it looks like a continuation of same until landing lights illuminate the flagged barriers. For someone that does not know the airport well, it would be very easy to follow the green centerline lights to taxiway a. I'd like to recommend the lights be rendered inoperative or the barriers to be illuminated at least as well as. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter advised that the following week the taxiway had been reopened. His primary concern was the visual effect caused by the closed taxiway being lit/blocked. When exiting runway 28L or runway 28R, the runway being crowned, causing visual impairment of the taxiway, might not allow a flight crew sufficient time to react, exiting the runway and roll directly onto a closed taxiway. But the problem has been resolved with the opening of taxiway K between taxiway B and the ramp.

Title: B767 PIC CONCERNED WITH EXTENDED TXWY K CLOSURE WITH OPERATING TXWY LIGHTS.

Narrative: THERE IS A CLOSED HIGH SPD TXWY AT SFO FROM RWY 28L TO TXWY A, BTWN TXWY D AND TXWY K. IT IS DEPICTED ON CHART 10-9 BY A PAIR OF DOTTED LINES. THIS TXWY HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR YRS, BUT IT HAD ILLUMINATED GREEN CTRLINE LIGHTS ON. WHEN EXITING RWY 28L ON THE HIGH SPD TURNOFF, TXWY T, IT LOOKS LIKE A CONTINUATION OF SAME UNTIL LNDG LIGHTS ILLUMINATE THE FLAGGED BARRIERS. FOR SOMEONE THAT DOES NOT KNOW THE ARPT WELL, IT WOULD BE VERY EASY TO FOLLOW THE GREEN CTRLINE LIGHTS TO TXWY A. I'D LIKE TO RECOMMEND THE LIGHTS BE RENDERED INOP OR THE BARRIERS TO BE ILLUMINATED AT LEAST AS WELL AS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR ADVISED THAT THE FOLLOWING WK THE TXWY HAD BEEN REOPENED. HIS PRIMARY CONCERN WAS THE VISUAL EFFECT CAUSED BY THE CLOSED TXWY BEING LIT/BLOCKED. WHEN EXITING RWY 28L OR RWY 28R, THE RWY BEING CROWNED, CAUSING VISUAL IMPAIRMENT OF THE TXWY, MIGHT NOT ALLOW A FLC SUFFICIENT TIME TO REACT, EXITING THE RWY AND ROLL DIRECTLY ONTO A CLOSED TXWY. BUT THE PROB HAS BEEN RESOLVED WITH THE OPENING OF TXWY K BTWN TXWY B AND THE RAMP.
