Narrative:
After landing on runway 25L (lax) hand microphone slipped and became active. We temporarily had a hot microphone on #1 frequency. It took some 3 mins to find the problem hand microphone. In process on another radio/frequency tower, we were cleared to cross runway 25R which was acknowledged and done. As we crossed we had to wait for an MD80 to clear taxiway B in front of us (unusual). As we switched to ground the stuck microphone re-presented itself. We sat on taxiway B for some mins as the microphone was silenced and the situation returned to normal. We are sure of our clearance to cross the runway but question the MD80 in front of us on the north side of the runway. This report is sent in case more happened on taxiway B while we were no communication. Had we found the normally unused hand microphone sooner there would be no confusion.

Title: AN UNUSED HAND MIKE IS INADVERTENTLY KEYED CAUSING GND HANDLING PROBS, UNKNOWN TFC ISSUES, AND CONFUSION AT LAX, CA
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 25L (LAX) HAND MIKE SLIPPED AND BECAME ACTIVE. WE TEMPORARILY HAD A HOT MIKE ON #1 FREQ. IT TOOK SOME 3 MINS TO FIND THE PROB HAND MIKE. IN PROCESS ON ANOTHER RADIO/FREQ TWR, WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 25R WHICH WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AND DONE. AS WE CROSSED WE HAD TO WAIT FOR AN MD80 TO CLR TXWY B IN FRONT OF US (UNUSUAL). AS WE SWITCHED TO GND THE STUCK MIKE RE-PRESENTED ITSELF. WE SAT ON TXWY B FOR SOME MINS AS THE MIKE WAS SILENCED AND THE SIT RETURNED TO NORMAL. WE ARE SURE OF OUR CLRNC TO CROSS THE RWY BUT QUESTION THE MD80 IN FRONT OF US ON THE N SIDE OF THE RWY. THIS RPT IS SENT IN CASE MORE HAPPENED ON TXWY B WHILE WE WERE NO COM. HAD WE FOUND THE NORMALLY UNUSED HAND MIKE SOONER THERE WOULD BE NO CONFUSION.
