Narrative:
Upon landing ord on runway 14L with another aircraft on short final, I started a turn to the right to exit runway 14L on runway 18/36 instead of the next high speed and the ord controller said 'by all means air carrier XXX use runway 18.' we exited runway 18 and taxied to gate X with no other comments or problems. This occurred after a 14 hour duty day, arriving in dtw at XA00 and getting to the hotel at XA50 and then being awakened by housekeeping at XB00 to clean the room. Then another 3 hour ground delay leaving dtw. I really believe fatigue came into play on my decision to exit at runway 18/36 versus later high speed.
