Narrative:

During taxi out, first officer dialed in incorrect tower frequency 118.7. When we called for takeoff, the tower controller cleared us for takeoff and requested that we switch to the correct tower frequency 123.7. The first officer complied but selected 123.67 by error, and placed departure frequency in the other frequency window. We completed the pre takeoff checklist below the line and commenced our takeoff roll. Since we were cleared for takeoff on 118.7, we expected no further tower communication until switched to departure. When that communication didn't occur within the normal time, the first officer noticed the incorrect frequency 123.67 and dialed in the correct frequency 123.70. The first officer requested to switch to departure. The tower controller responded that he had been trying to reach us since we began our takeoff roll and to contact departure. No further communication problems occurred. Fortunately/unfortunately, love tower uses or monitors the old tower frequency of 118.7.

Narrative: DURING TAXI OUT, FO DIALED IN INCORRECT TWR FREQ 118.7. WHEN WE CALLED FOR TKOF, THE TWR CTLR CLRED US FOR TKOF AND REQUESTED THAT WE SWITCH TO THE CORRECT TWR FREQ 123.7. THE FO COMPLIED BUT SELECTED 123.67 BY ERROR, AND PLACED DEP FREQ IN THE OTHER FREQ WINDOW. WE COMPLETED THE PRE TKOF CHKLIST BELOW THE LINE AND COMMENCED OUR TKOF ROLL. SINCE WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON 118.7, WE EXPECTED NO FURTHER TWR COM UNTIL SWITCHED TO DEP. WHEN THAT COM DIDN'T OCCUR WITHIN THE NORMAL TIME, THE FO NOTICED THE INCORRECT FREQ 123.67 AND DIALED IN THE CORRECT FREQ 123.70. THE FO REQUESTED TO SWITCH TO DEP. THE TWR CTLR RESPONDED THAT HE HAD BEEN TRYING TO REACH US SINCE WE BEGAN OUR TKOF ROLL AND TO CONTACT DEP. NO FURTHER COM PROBS OCCURRED. FORTUNATELY/UNFORTUNATELY, LOVE TWR USES OR MONITORS THE OLD TWR FREQ OF 118.7.
