Narrative:

Left-hand vsv actuator was replaced on #1 engine of aircraft per the maintenance manual. After the aircraft had departed the field, our local inspection department called to see if the job was completed so they could do the required inspection before the end of their shift. Once I verified that an inspection was in fact required I notified system aircraft maintenance control so they could make sure an inspection was completed when the aircraft reached its first destination. The aircraft maintenance manual made no mention that this job required inspection buy-back.
