Narrative:
Falcon was cleared to roll to the end of the runway. Aircraft was not clear of runway when we crossed the threshold -- captain elected to go around. Spacing was too close. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that the previously landing aircraft requested a roll to the end of the runway to facilitate an expeditious taxi to his facility. It did not appear that he would clear the runway in time so a go around was executed.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN AIR CARRIER INITIATES A GAR WHEN THE PREVIOUSLY LNDG ACFT IS GRANTED A ROLL TO THE END OF THE RWY AND DOES NOT CLR THE RWY IN TIME.
Narrative: FALCON WAS CLEARED TO ROLL TO THE END OF THE RWY. ACFT WAS NOT CLEAR OF RWY WHEN WE CROSSED THE THRESHOLD -- CAPT ELECTED TO GAR. SPACING WAS TOO CLOSE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THAT THE PREVIOUSLY LNDG ACFT REQUESTED A ROLL TO THE END OF THE RWY TO FACILITATE AN EXPEDITIOUS TAXI TO HIS FACILITY. IT DID NOT APPEAR THAT HE WOULD CLR THE RWY IN TIME SO A GAR WAS EXECUTED.
