Narrative:
We diverted to chs due to a medical emergency. The airport personnel were somewhat unfamiliar with the A300. Since we were parked at a jetbridge close to the terminal, we needed to be pushed out. They did not have a tow bar that fit, so they convinced the captain to use a nonstandard tow bar that had been used on a B767. We pushed straight back without incident. In retrospect, we realized we could have damaged the nose gear.
