Narrative:
We departed abe airport to queen city airport in a helicopter. We were cleared by the tower to go to queen city airport. We were climbing from 1000 ft to 1200 ft. The tower later said they tried to radio us, but we lost radio contact with the tower. Even so, I can't figure out why the airplane was so close. The airplane passed under us about 300 ft.
