Narrative:
We were cleared to descend to 16000 ft and did not level off in time. I was the PF and was fatigued due to the early east coast morning show. I noticed at about 15600 ft that I missed the altitude and aggressively but smoothly releveled at 16000 ft. We were then cleared to 12000 ft. I think that because I was tired I was already thinking about the next altitude and was distraction thereby missing the leveloff. Center never said a word. We continued without further deviation from SOP.

Title: ALT OVERSHOT IN DSCNT BY THE PIC OF A B737, CLAIMING HE WAS TIRED AND NOT PAYING ATTN ON FREQ WITH ZAU, IL.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO DSND TO 16000 FT AND DID NOT LEVEL OFF IN TIME. I WAS THE PF AND WAS FATIGUED DUE TO THE EARLY EAST COAST MORNING SHOW. I NOTICED AT ABOUT 15600 FT THAT I MISSED THE ALT AND AGGRESSIVELY BUT SMOOTHLY RELEVELED AT 16000 FT. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO 12000 FT. I THINK THAT BECAUSE I WAS TIRED I WAS ALREADY THINKING ABOUT THE NEXT ALT AND WAS DISTR THEREBY MISSING THE LEVELOFF. CTR NEVER SAID A WORD. WE CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER DEV FROM SOP.
