Narrative:
I was at the timmerman, wisconsin airport (mwc) last weekend for training. This is a class D airport, the airport did not have any, any taxiway identification markers. Runways were marked, but txwys were not. With all of the emphasis on runway incursions, I believe this should be corrected immediately. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: tower personnel advised that airport management is aware of the condition, but advised that there was no funding to correct the problem. Tower spokesman advised that controller's must use generalized, geographical instructions, even though airport diagrams (commercial and local publications) identify taxiway's by FAA standardized lettering.
