Narrative:
After our arrival, as our passenger deplaned, a mechanic came onboard to discuss the left brake fire with cockpit. The relief pilot went to jetbridge to view the brake which was overheated and fire resulted and was being put out effectively. As I went to view what was happening, I saw lots of smoke coming from wheel area left side of forward wheel assembly. The mechanic and relief pilot said it's quite common due to 'carbon brake' components and usually goes out on its own. The captain and first officer did not perceive this as any type of emergency and said it posed absolutely no danger to passenger. Therefore, I chose not to initiate an emergency deplaning. One other flight attendant decided to do so, so he made an announcement to remaining deplaning passenger to 'please get off as soon as possible because we have a fire in our landing gear.' the announcement fell on 'deaf ears' because no one seemed to take it seriously and deplaning did not speed up.

Title: A B767-300 PARKED AT THE GATE DEPLANING PAX HAS A L MAIN GEAR BRAKE SMOKING CAUSING ANXIETY TO THE FLT ATTENDANTS.
Narrative: AFTER OUR ARR, AS OUR PAX DEPLANED, A MECH CAME ONBOARD TO DISCUSS THE L BRAKE FIRE WITH COCKPIT. THE RELIEF PLT WENT TO JETBRIDGE TO VIEW THE BRAKE WHICH WAS OVERHEATED AND FIRE RESULTED AND WAS BEING PUT OUT EFFECTIVELY. AS I WENT TO VIEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING, I SAW LOTS OF SMOKE COMING FROM WHEEL AREA L SIDE OF FORWARD WHEEL ASSEMBLY. THE MECH AND RELIEF PLT SAID IT'S QUITE COMMON DUE TO 'CARBON BRAKE' COMPONENTS AND USUALLY GOES OUT ON ITS OWN. THE CAPT AND FO DID NOT PERCEIVE THIS AS ANY TYPE OF EMER AND SAID IT POSED ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER TO PAX. THEREFORE, I CHOSE NOT TO INITIATE AN EMER DEPLANING. ONE OTHER FLT ATTENDANT DECIDED TO DO SO, SO HE MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO REMAINING DEPLANING PAX TO 'PLEASE GET OFF ASAP BECAUSE WE HAVE A FIRE IN OUR LNDG GEAR.' THE ANNOUNCEMENT FELL ON 'DEAF EARS' BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMED TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY AND DEPLANING DID NOT SPD UP.
