Narrative:
Upon gear retraction for takeoff at tpa, lost 'a' system hydraulics pressure and fluid. Declared an emergency with departure control, entered a downwind leg and accomplished our QRH procedures. Returned to tpa for an uneventful, overweight landing. With no 'a' hydraulics we stopped on runway 18R and were towed to the gate. While being towed, flight attendant advised us of a missing panel on the right wing. Upon inspection, we found a broken hydraulic line and a portion of a panel ripped from wing -- no other aircraft damage was found. Logbook entries were made for missing panel, hydraulic loss and overweight landing. Crew did a good job accomplishing procedures and preparing the cabin. Supplemental information from acn 512930: on takeoff from tpa lost 'a' system hydraulic pressure and fluid when raising gear (only nose gear came up, main gear stayed down).

Title: A B737-300 FLC RETURN LAND WHEN UNABLE TO RETRACT THEIR LNDG GEAR AFTER BLOWING A HYD LINE AFTER TKOF FROM TPA, FL.
Narrative: UPON GEAR RETRACTION FOR TKOF AT TPA, LOST 'A' SYS HYDS PRESSURE AND FLUID. DECLARED AN EMER WITH DEP CTL, ENTERED A DOWNWIND LEG AND ACCOMPLISHED OUR QRH PROCS. RETURNED TO TPA FOR AN UNEVENTFUL, OVERWT LNDG. WITH NO 'A' HYDS WE STOPPED ON RWY 18R AND WERE TOWED TO THE GATE. WHILE BEING TOWED, FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED US OF A MISSING PANEL ON THE R WING. UPON INSPECTION, WE FOUND A BROKEN HYD LINE AND A PORTION OF A PANEL RIPPED FROM WING -- NO OTHER ACFT DAMAGE WAS FOUND. LOGBOOK ENTRIES WERE MADE FOR MISSING PANEL, HYD LOSS AND OVERWT LNDG. CREW DID A GOOD JOB ACCOMPLISHING PROCS AND PREPARING THE CABIN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 512930: ON TKOF FROM TPA LOST 'A' SYS HYD PRESSURE AND FLUID WHEN RAISING GEAR (ONLY NOSE GEAR CAME UP, MAIN GEAR STAYED DOWN).
