Narrative:
During takeoff in float equipment PA12 on lake hood in 200 ft wide channel in 18+ mph crosswind. Failed to maintain directional control. Shut down engine and aborted takeoff. Slid up on bank (no damage to aircraft) pushed plane back in water, taxied back to tie down to check for damage to floats that couldn't be seen. Slight damage to skeg: repaired.
