Narrative:

Flight was cleared for the struk 9 arrival, direct marit, cross marit at 10000 ft. Approximately 10 mi west of marit, flight was cleared to intercept localizer 12R. Approximately 30 DME on localizer 12R, hou approach cleared us to 6000 ft. ATC questioned us why we had not slowed at marit. When we received a new clearance to intercept localizer 12R, this terminated crossing and speed restrs at marit.
