Narrative:

ATC facility: socal approach. Location: ILS base turn at sna approach. First officer flying and vectoring for ILS approach at sna. Level at 3000 ft in hazy stratus, visibility approximately 2 mi, saw traffic on the nose indicating 200 ft low on TCASII and getting close. (Air carrier airplane, using 6 mi scale.) while attempting to get immediate turn to avoid conflict, RA indicated climb. First officer disconnected autoplt and initiated a climb. RA cleared us of conflict at approximately 3500 ft and we returned to 3000 ft. Never saw the interloper. Advised socal twice and he seemed to be completely uninterested. Continued uneventful approach to landing at sna.
