Narrative:
After clearing the runway and waiting for taxi clearance, a passenger left their seat. After taxi clearance was received, taxi to gate began. Captain was not informed that a passenger was not seated. We taxied to the gate and were towed into final position. Passenger deplaned without incident. The flight attendant did not inform me until the following morning of the unseated passenger. When asked why she allowed the passenger out of their seat, she replied 'I didn't know if I had the authority/authorized to tell them to situation down.' when asked why she didn't call the captain, she said 'I didn't know I was supposed to.' I instructed her it was her obligation to prevent this very type of thing. This flight attendant is not new. Other pilots have told me this flight attendant is 'weird.' perhaps 2 1/2 weeks training from new hire to online is a bit short?
