Narrative:
I was working 5 positions combined. Worked over 70 operations that hour. Short staffing. B737 requested to depart runway 06. Runway 33L/right was active wind 330/8. Two (2) aircraft C172's in touch and go pattern runway 33R. I was working (2) aircraft on ground control coordinating a runway 06 departure and working a helicopter through the class C airspace. I cleared B737 for takeoff runway 06, totally forgetting the touch and goes in the pattern. C172 was landing runway 33R, and not realizing it was the wrong aircraft I gave instructions to extend crosswind. I did not move my strips. Aircraft advised me he was landing when I gave him instructions to extend crosswind. Seeing what I had done, I instructed B737 to 'cancel takeoff instructions' (2) twice. B737 aborted his takeoff, after rolling about 1500 ft he advised he was doing about 75 KTS at the time. No one to blame but myself. Working 5 position I was also controller in charge. Unable to get overtime working short staffed and not having the second set of eyes. C172 in pattern was not listening in on frequency. If he was aware what I was doing he could of helped. I screwed up!!! Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter expressed concern about the staffing level at their facility, which he claims is not keeping up with the increased traffic.

Title: B737 IS TOLD TO ABORT ITS TAKEOFF FROM RWY 06 AT ISP BECAUSE OF DEPARTING C172 ON RWY 33R.
Narrative: I WAS WORKING 5 POSITIONS COMBINED. WORKED OVER 70 OPS THAT HOUR. SHORT STAFFING. B737 REQUESTED TO DEPART RWY 06. RWY 33L/R WAS ACTIVE WIND 330/8. TWO (2) ACFT C172'S IN TOUCH AND GO PATTERN RWY 33R. I WAS WORKING (2) ACFT ON GC COORDINATING A RWY 06 DEP AND WORKING A HELI THROUGH THE CLASS C AIRSPACE. I CLEARED B737 FOR TAKEOFF RWY 06, TOTALLY FORGETTING THE TOUCH AND GOES IN THE PATTERN. C172 WAS LNDG RWY 33R, AND NOT REALIZING IT WAS THE WRONG ACFT I GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO EXTEND CROSSWIND. I DID NOT MOVE MY STRIPS. ACFT ADVISED ME HE WAS LNDG WHEN I GAVE HIM INSTRUCTIONS TO EXTEND CROSSWIND. WORKING 5 POS I WAS ALSO CIC. UNABLE TO GET OVERTIME WORKING SHORT STAFFED AND NOT HAVING THE SECOND SET OF EYES. C172 IN PATTERN WAS NOT LISTENING IN ON FREQ. IF HE WAS AWARE WHAT I WAS DOING HE COULD OF HELPED. I SCREWED UP!!! CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT THE STAFFING LEVEL AT THEIR FACILITY, WHICH HE CLAIMS IS NOT KEEPING UP WITH THE INCREASED TFC.
