Narrative:

ZDC gave us a 060 degree heading to intercept the balance 294 degree radial. I turned to 060 degree heading and set the radial in the HSI. I turned to intercept the radial as it came to center in the HSI and checked the radial set. I saw the 284 degree radial was set and turned back to 060 degrees. ZDC then gave us a 040 degree heading to intercept. The rest of the flight continued uneventfully.
