Narrative:
My student and I lost all electrical on airplane, inclusive communications, about 10 NM north of caldwell airport, nj (cdw). We followed emergency procedures, and squawked 7600 in transponder. We flew to the limits of class D airspace looking for light gun signals. After a few mins we decided to enter class D at caldwell and overflew tower at 1700 ft waiting for light signals. No response from caldwell tower, we proceeded northbound and landed at lincoln park airport, uncontrolled airport.
