Narrative:
After the entry door was closed, I held the brakes and released the parking brake handle and reset it to get an on-time departure. The brakes were never released from the aircraft. I was later asked by the mechanic if I had released the brakes. He told me that the zone controller had contacted him to find out why we were out. I told him that I only dropped the parking brake handle to get the out time but the brakes were never released. He voiced his displeasure with this and asked for my name. I gave it to him and we continued the trip. I later found out that a report was filed stating that the plane was being loaded and that the aircraft had moved. This is false. The brakes were never released. This will never occur on my airplane again.

Title: A B737-300 PIC ANGERS A GND CREW MAN WHEN IT IS FOUND THAT HE HAD RELEASED HIS PARKING BRAKE HANDLE TO 'TRIGGER' AN ON-TIME DEP FROM THE GATE AT SFO, CA.
Narrative: AFTER THE ENTRY DOOR WAS CLOSED, I HELD THE BRAKES AND RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE AND RESET IT TO GET AN ON-TIME DEP. THE BRAKES WERE NEVER RELEASED FROM THE ACFT. I WAS LATER ASKED BY THE MECH IF I HAD RELEASED THE BRAKES. HE TOLD ME THAT THE ZONE CTLR HAD CONTACTED HIM TO FIND OUT WHY WE WERE OUT. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT A RPT WAS FILED STATING THAT THE PLANE WAS BEING LOADED AND THAT THE ACFT HAD MOVED. THIS IS FALSE. THE BRAKES WERE NEVER RELEASED. THIS WILL NEVER OCCUR ON MY AIRPLANE AGAIN.
