Narrative:
Spacing too close to aircraft ahead. Center turned us west, then east 085 degrees to intercept ranger inbound, then contact approach. Thought she said intercept runway 13R which I assumed was off 085 degree heading. Wrong. We were scolded -- rightly so. Turned west to intercept. Skydive in operation, no known threat.
