Narrative:
We taxied from our hangar at klgb 1 hour before departure from ksna (reposition). Just prior to taxi from klgb, we discovered that we were missing some radio frequency charts. We were 20 mins late in departing. We were cleared to runway 12 which was unusual for us (normal departure on runway 30). The taxi time was significantly shorter and we were rushed to complete all the checklists by the time we reached the approach end of runway 12. Just prior to the approach end of runway 12, we crossed runway 7. I was concerned that even though we were cleared to runway 12, that I might be crossing an active runway. I felt that since runway 12 was active that runway 7 might be active as well. This fact, and a landing B767 on runway 12 close to me, had my full attention and I did not hear the conversation between my copilot and the tower. I asked my copilot if we were cleared to go and he said, 'we are cleared for takeoff'. I taxied onto runway 12 and asked my copilot again if we were cleared for takeoff and he said cleared for takeoff. We were rushed (late) for departure and a bit confused by the runway and taxiway layout at the approach end of runway 12. My copilot misunderstood the clearance and I should have been paying attention to his conversation with the tower.

Title: A CL-601 CAPT RPTED THAT HE TOOK HIS FO'S WORD THAT THEY WERE CLRED FOR TKOF AT LGB. BUT HE LATER SEEMED TO ADMIT TO MAKING A MISTAKE. IT IS UNCLR IF THEY WERE NOT CLRED ONTO THE RWY AND OR NOT CLRED FOR TKOF.
Narrative: WE TAXIED FROM OUR HANGAR AT KLGB 1 HOUR BEFORE DEP FROM KSNA (REPOSITION). JUST PRIOR TO TAXI FROM KLGB, WE DISCOVERED THAT WE WERE MISSING SOME RADIO FREQ CHARTS. WE WERE 20 MINS LATE IN DEPARTING. WE WERE CLRED TO RWY 12 WHICH WAS UNUSUAL FOR US (NORMAL DEP ON RWY 30). THE TAXI TIME WAS SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTER AND WE WERE RUSHED TO COMPLETE ALL THE CHKLISTS BY THE TIME WE REACHED THE APCH END OF RWY 12. JUST PRIOR TO THE APCH END OF RWY 12, WE CROSSED RWY 7. I WAS CONCERNED THAT EVEN THOUGH WE WERE CLRED TO RWY 12, THAT I MIGHT BE XING AN ACTIVE RWY. I FELT THAT SINCE RWY 12 WAS ACTIVE THAT RWY 7 MIGHT BE ACTIVE AS WELL. THIS FACT, AND A LNDG B767 ON RWY 12 CLOSE TO ME, HAD MY FULL ATTN AND I DID NOT HEAR THE CONVERSATION BTWN MY COPLT AND THE TWR. I ASKED MY COPLT IF WE WERE CLRED TO GO AND HE SAID, 'WE ARE CLRED FOR TKOF'. I TAXIED ONTO RWY 12 AND ASKED MY COPLT AGAIN IF WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF AND HE SAID CLRED FOR TKOF. WE WERE RUSHED (LATE) FOR DEP AND A BIT CONFUSED BY THE RWY AND TXWY LAYOUT AT THE APCH END OF RWY 12. MY COPLT MISUNDERSTOOD THE CLRNC AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING ATTN TO HIS CONVERSATION WITH THE TWR.
